Je Suis Charlie

Dear Mom and Dad, If you have been watching the news I'm sure you have heard about the tragedy that struck Paris. Charlie Hebdo magazine headquarters was attacked on January 7, just a week after they published cartoon images of Muhammad. As most of us know any physical representation of Muhammad is forbidden in the Islamic law. Two Muslim extremists broke into the building and shot and killed 12 people including Charlie Hebdo staff members and 2 policemen, as well as injuring many others. After two days of massive searching the two extremists were found and killed in a deli outside of Paris. I wanted to let you know that I am currently safe in my apartment, 71 Rue de Saint-Louis en l'ile in the 4th arrondissement, watching the news on this horrific event. Since the event there has been many gatherings and peace walks throughout Paris, mourning this tragic event. Many people hold papers saying "je suis Charlie". In my opinion I believe that the deaths of these people does not justify the inconsiderate cartoons that Charlie Hebdo released. Every human is allowed to have their own opinion whether other people like it or not. Charlie Hebdo is a satirical magazine so their job is to get a reaction out of people but I do not think that they were expecting or deserved this type of reaction. I understand why the extremists were so upset, but they should have realized that killing is not the answer nor will it help anything. Charlie Hebdo broke a major law in their religion and I think they should have been more careful and considerate before releasing them. In 2011, they were firebombed for showing another image of Muhammad. They should have taken this attack as a hint to how strongly some people felt about this law. Although Charlie Hebdo did disrespect the Islamic law they do have a freedom of speech and defiantly did not derisive to be killed for it. Both sides should have acted more considerately. Well I just wanted to check in and tell you that I'm fine. love you both!

Une Journée à Paris #1

Je me réveille dans mon appartement. l'adresse de mon appartement est soixante et un Rue de Rivoli, dans le quatrième arrondissement. Je me lève et je vais a la salle de bains. Je me lave dans la douche. Je me rase les jambes dans la douche. Apres je me brosse les dents et je me brosse les cheveux. Je m’habille dans ma chambre. Je mets un robe blanche.  Je quitte mon appartement et je vais au café.  Dans le cafe, il y a beaucoup de café, croissants, fruits, et tartes. J’achète un café et un croissant. Je quitte le café. Pendant ma promenade au le Musée d’Orsay, je mange mon croissant et bois mon café. J’arrive au Musée  Je vais au guichet et j’achète un billet. Je marche dans le Musée et je vois beaucoup des peintures. Je sais qu’il y a une nouvelle exposition. Je vois une peinture de Monet. Je connais Monet. Je vois une peinture qui s’appelle La Robe Rose l’artiste est Frédéric Bazille. Il y a une fille assise et elle regarde la ville. La fille porte une robe rose. Aussi je vois la peinture s’appelle La Classe de Danse et l’artiste est Edgar Degas. Dans la peinture il y a des filles qui sont dansent. Elles portent des chasseurs roses et une robe blanche dans la classe de dansent. Je marche dans le Musée et je vois une peinture avec des chiens. La peinture s’appelle Garde-Chasse et l’artiste est Constant Troyon. Dans la peinture il y a quatre chiens. Les chiens sont blancs et bruns et ils tuent des lapin. Il y a un homme avec des chiens aussi. Finalement, je vois une peinture qui s’appelle Sur la Plage. Il y a une fille et un homme sur la plage et ils regardent la mer. Elle porte une robe grise et il porte une veste noir. Après je pars le Musée d’Orsay. Je marche au cinema s’appelle le Nouveau Latin et l’adresse et vingt Rue de Temple dans le quatrième arrondissement. Je vais au guichet et j’achète mon billet pour le film qui s’appelle Je Voyage Seule. Le film et en version originale et les acteurs qui jouent dans le film s’appelle Fabriza Sacchi, Gian Maroc Tognazzi, et Alessia Barela. Je Voyager Seule et une comédie.  J’aime bien le film.  C’est très comique.  Apres le film, je marche a un restaurant pour diner.  J’achète un croque monsieur et je le mange dans mon siège.  Le Croque monsieur est tres bon.  Je reviens à mon appartement.  Je me brosse les dents, Je me déshabille, et je me couche.
